MASSAGE IN WESTERN SOCIETY
For a few decades now, our society has been venturing more and more into the health and wellness sector of life. Many of the stressors that inhabit our physiological environments include, daily travels, improper eating habits, negative thoughts, toxic people, et cetera. Being able to get-a-way for even a couple of hours per week has become not only a luxury, but a necessity as well.
With the commercialization of looking younger, and living longer and being more intuned, comes a slew of ideas in the forms of pills, and tonics and many times, even surgery; basically, everything short of walking through fire.
Though touch therapy has been in existence from the beginning of time, it has become even more essential in modern civilization. Massage is one of the most beneficial forms of wellness therapy to date, providing a full spectrum of balance; in that, specializing in the mind, soul, body and spirit of the individual.
In the quest for our place in life, no matter our race, culture, orientation, gender or religion; the one thing that we all seek collectively… is balance.
